Utensil
In the utensil project brief we were told to make a utensil for serving food. I started by researching into different utensils that are already out there and trying to make them better.
I wanted to base my design off the spreading utensil as I thought it could be made to spread a larger scale of food. I experimenting with the shape of the utensil and the handles making lots of prototypes and models to get the best outcome. Using the skills I learn in the workshop inductions to make them.
The Final Design
For the final design I used a wooden bow handle so it was nice to hold and had strength when holding. I used silicone to spread the food as it was flexible and did the job well. I put woods either side of the silicone to add strength and nice ascetic look. It is made for spreading larger quantities of food over cakes, bread ect.
